Unfortunately, when installing windows, we are not often told about measures and actions that will help prepare them for the winter season. We have collected useful tips that will keep your home warm and extend their service life.

If you want to drink warm tea on the windowsill in the cold, don't hesitate and get to work.
- Remove the mosquito net. Wash it with soap and water and dry it well. Store it indoors until spring.
- Clean the windows using special window cleaners that do not contain abrasive elements and will not damage the glass surface or profiles.
- After the window is dry, work on the rubber seals and fittings. Lubricate the rubber seals with silicone grease or solidol. If the standard seal is worn out, it needs to be replaced (it is better to contact professionals).
- Brush the fittings to remove dirt and old grease. Then lubricate all moving parts of the fittings with machine oil.
- Do not forget to clean the drainage holes from dirt that has accumulated there during operation. This procedure will improve the process of removing excess moisture that is formed during the condensation process.
- In the fall, with the approach of cold weather, it is recommended to switch the hardware to winter mode to reduce blowing from the sash. If your seal is in good condition, you can leave the window in summer mode.
As you can see, window maintenance is not difficult. These steps will help you keep warm and save money, which we will need soon to celebrate the winter holidays!
